Who we are…
CERT Systems Inc (CERT) is on a mission to transform the way the world's most important chemicals are made. Our breakthrough electrochemical route to convert captured CO2 into valuable fuels and chemical feedstocks means that we can help the planet avoid over 500 million tonnes of emissions by 2040.
Who YOU are…
- You are a well-rounded engineering intern who cannot wait to start designing, testing and upgrading mechatronics systems.
- A start-up environment is exciting to you because you'll be exposed to a wider range of technical challenges, as well as take charge of your own work.
- You are also mission-driven; you care about climate change, and you want to use your skills to help be part of a global solution
Job Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will:
- Create mechatronics & automated systems to support CERT's lab activities, including design, procurement, assembly, testing/troubleshooting and documentation of said systems.
- Identify areas for improvement in current electrochemical research and fabrication processes, and collaborate with fellow researchers to implement improvements.
- Assist with CAD design and drawings for equipment such as electrochemical cell plates and custom jigs.
- Use, troubleshoot and fix issues with existing electrochemical devices such as Gas Chromatographs and Mass Flow Controllers, and workshop equipment such as 3D Printers and Bandsaws.
- Assist in data processing and hands-on experimental setup for electrolysis systems.
- Have or pick up required skills on the job to achieve the above goals. These include mechanical (rapid prototyping, CAD), electrochemical (chemical systems, electrochemical cells), electronics (basic circuits) and software (microcontroller programming, data processing) skillsets.
