**What you can expect in your role:**

We are looking for a talented Membrane Engineer to join our team as one of our first employees. You will be responsible for designing, fabricating, testing, optimizing, and scaling up polymer membranes for our device prototypes, for use in applications such as water desalination. This role will require you to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment where you will lead multiple roles/responsibilities such as completing lab work, designing experiments, and troubleshooting equipment.

- You will be developing new membrane scale-up fabrication methods
- You will be synthesizing, characterizing, and implementing new polymer membranes
- You will be completing performance tests and optimizing manufacturing processes
- You will be analyzing data from lab experiments and preparing weekly/monthly technical reports

**Skills we prefer for this role:**

You are an outstanding engineer/scientist with experience in large-scale polymer membrane synthesis, process, design, and manufacturing. You have experience with R&D of new polymer materials with a track record of commercialization being highly desired.

- You have a Doctorate or Master's degree in polymer science, engineering, chemistry, material science, or related field with 3+ years of industry experience in polymer synthesis and manufacturing, or
- You have a Bachelor’s degree in polymer science, engineering, chemistry, material science, or related field with 8+ years of industry experience in in polymer synthesis and manufacturing
- You have hands-on experience in polymer scale-up development and fabrication
- You have a strong understanding of polymer science and its application in membrane design
- You have an unwavering commitment to high safety standards and supportive work behavior

**What we expect from you in this role:**

You will be our first membrane engineer. We expect you to make significant impact in laying the groundwork to scale our technology from the lab to industrial multi-kilogram scale. To accomplish these goals, you will work directly with the co-founders and early research team and have the opportunity to contribute to all parts of our research and development projects.
