Position Overview: Program Manager

Join a team of innovators and doers who are developing a technology that makes an enormous impact on reduction of global emission. The Program Manager position is located in Pine Brook, New Jersey. The candidate will work under minimal supervision and must demonstrate mastery of program management skills and comprehensive understanding of multiple concurrent workstreams. The candidate will be responsible for developing program management strategies for a series of projects of significant size & complexity and executing the program to achieve scope, schedule, cost, delivery, and quality requirements. Initial projects include managing and driving design, fabrication and installation of complex cement production systems. The candidate will define, generate & implement program plans and coordinate efforts amongst a diverse team across several major domestic locations. The Program Manager will implement and lead the management operating system, drive change across the company, play a critical role in supporting the Queens Carbon team, and work with leadership to build a strong, diverse team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee a $20 million, multi-phase three-year engineering project funded by the Department of Energy ARPA-E, aimed at piloting the production of low CO2 cementitious materials.
  • Execute the Management OS
  • Develop and implement comprehensive project plans that integrate all project activities and phases, document construction and completions progress
  • Report on project & deliverables milestone status, risks & change management analyses, summary of key issues & actions, resource management, project schedule analysis, and achievements to senior management and funding bodies, ensuring transparency and accountability.
  • Liaise with key stakeholders including QC team, government bodies, industry partners, and academic institutions to ensure alignment and compliance with project goals and regulations.
  • Monitor project progress against goals and budget, making adjustments as necessary to handle risks and capitalize on opportunities.
  • Understand supply chain management
  • Generate Quarterly, mid-year and annual reports
  • Assist leadership to build a strong team by recruiting talent, identifying and developing successors plan, driving retention and engagement, and fostering an inclusivity.

MUST HAVE

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in Engineering project management, with at least 5 years specifically managing pilot-scale (or similar) industrial projects ($10m+/year). Experience with government-funded projects is highly preferred.
  • Expertise in identifying, analyzing, and mitigating project risks, with a keen ability to foresee potential challenges and proactively develop contingency plans.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and inspire a diverse team. Excellent communication skills, capable of effectively negotiating and resolving conflicts.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage budget and internal/external resources on aggressive timelines.
  • Master’s degree or higher in Engineering, Engineering Project Management, or a related field.

WE VALUE

  • In-depth understanding of environmental regulations and compliance standards relevant to industrial and energy projects. Experience with DOE projects or similar government entities is an asset.
  • Plant construction development program experience
  • Experience in industrial equipment and/or reactor design, balance of plant
  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems
  • PMP certificate
  • Agile Scrum/Kanban
