About the role

The Battery Engineering Technician will play a key role in the advancement of battery technology roadmap at the cell and system level. The candidate will support Standard Potential’s product and technology team in experimental design, battery testing, protocol and fixture design, inventory management, characterization and data analysis. What you’ll do

  • Follow and improve upon protocols for full lifecycle battery testing from inventory, through system assembly, testing, analysis, and end-of-life.
  • Operate & manage battery testing equipment to characterize cells and systems.
  • Work with the engineering team to monitor and analyze battery testing data.
  • Lead/assist in making internal and external reports with analyzed data.
  • Proactively identify process improvements in technical operations.
  • Promote safe operating practices and foster a collaborative culture of excellence.

What you’ll bring

  • Commercially-relevant battery industry experience with a preference toward electrochemical cell and electronic system-level engineering.
  • Minimum Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, preferably in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate across teams and present findings to stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with ability to process and collect relevant electrochemical datasets.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities and technologies.
