Our work spans engineering R&D, hardware prototyping, pilot deployments, and partnerships across agriculture, industrial cooling, and data centers.

Role Overview

WattAir is seeking a full-time Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead the company’s technical, operational, and commercial execution. This role combines executive leadership with hands-on technical oversight in an early-stage climate technology company.

The CEO will guide product development, oversee pilot programs, manage strategic partnerships, and lead fundraising and company operations. The position reports to the Chair of the Board or designated employment supervisor.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead technical strategy and product development for atmospheric water harvesting and sorbent-based thermal systems

  • Oversee prototype design, testing, validation, and performance optimization

  • Manage project planning, budgets, suppliers, and manufacturing partners

  • Drive customer discovery, pilot deployments, and strategic partnerships

  • Prepare and present materials for investors, grant agencies, and stakeholders

  • Oversee company operations, compliance, and internal processes

  • Represent the company at industry meetings, conferences, and partner engagements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science/Engineering, Thermal/Fluids Engineering, or a closely related field (or equivalent practical experience)

  • Strong understanding of heat and mass transfer, thermodynamics, HVAC/refrigeration, and related thermal systems

  • Experience leading technical programs or product development efforts in hardware, energy, or water technology environments

  • Demonstrated leadership, communication, and cross-functional management skills

Work Environment

This is a mobile, hybrid role involving office work, partner facilities, and pilot sites. Occasional travel is required.
